IV Conscious Sedation

IV Conscious Sedation

If going to the dentist stresses you out, or if you have avoided dental care altogether because of fear or anxiety, then IV (Intravenous) Conscious Sedation at Kaggen Dental Care is the answer for you. Medications given through an IV line put you in a state of relaxation, just short of sleep, where you are unaware that dental work is being done. Dr. Kaggen can comfortably correct years of neglect, often in just one appointment, with little or no memory of the visit.

You are a good candidate for IV Sedation if you have fear or anxiety or have had a prior bad dental experience. If you have extreme difficulty with dental treatment due to gagging, IV Sedation can allow you to accomplish treatment easily. If you have put treatment off due to time contraints, you can utilize IV sedation to accomplish complex treatment in one or two visits. Long visits can be scheduled because you are unaware of the passage of time and have little or no memory of the visit afterward. You will not notice any of the sights and sounds that cause anxiety.

The procedure is very safe. Dr. Kaggen and his team continually monitor your vitals signs, including using a state of the art technique, called capnography, a monitoring procedure done in hospital operating rooms.

At Kaggen Dental Care, we also offer Oral Conscious Sedation for those patients that do not want an IV line. The effect is similar to IV sedation, however by using an IV we can better adjust the proper dosage of medication. IV is also considered safer than the oral technique.

You no longer have to put off the treatment that you want and deserve due to fear, anxiety, gagging or time issues. Call Kaggen Dental Care at (855) 706-3544 or (718) 767-9224 for a consultation appointment. At this consultation, our specially trained team will give you a tour of the office and listen to your concerns and questions. If you feel comfortable,we can also do an examination, including X-rays, at this appointment. If you prefer, we can do the exam at another visit, or while you are sedated. You need not feel embarrassed because of your fear or the condition of your mouth. We will treat you with respect and strive to make you comfortable in our office.
